This quote by Goethe reminds me a bit about the way I feel sometimes when I stay in foreign countries even in Italy…
At last I can really enjoy the solitude I have been longing for, because nowhere can one be more alone than in a large crowd though which one pushes one’s way, a complete stranger. In all Venice there is probably only one person who knows me, and it is most unlikely that I shall meet him at once.
